William Lekebusch

ORANGE, Va. – William F. Lekebusch died suddenly June 27, 2014, in Charlottesville. Born on Oct. 21, 1947, in Manchester, N.H., he was the son of Elisabeth (Betty) and Adolf Lekebusch, and a member of the West High School class of 1965. He earned a bachelor’s degree in History from Keene State College in 1972, where he was a member of the TKE fraternity. In the 1970s he was a sales professional with NH Supply Co., with statewide responsibilities. His last employment was as the purchasing manager for an aerospace composites manufacturer near Brandy Station, Va. Bill will be remembered as an avid Colts fan, golfer and Civil War history buff who delighted in residing in an historic Orange, Va., home that had been a Confederate hospital once visited by General Robert E. Lee. As a young man he enjoyed hiking in the White Mountains particularly Mt. Washington. He also loved using his woodworking skills to restore furniture. Bill is survived by his daughter, Heather Lekebusch of Culpeper, Va.; his brothers, Dolf of Ellicott City, Md. and Ron of Gilford, N.H.; and several nieces and a nephew. Plans for a memorial service to be held in New Hampshire will be announced at a later date.   Obituary found here.
