2020 Financial Report

Dear Fraters,

I am pleased to report to you that the financial state of our Fraternity is strong.

When creating the Alumni Association’s budget, we carefully scrutinize all expenditures to ensure that we are responsible with our limited resources, while still fulfilling our mission of supporting both the undergraduate chapter, and alumni. As a result of your generosity, 2019 was our best fundraising year to date, ensuring that this year we are able to make the largest investment in our fraternity yet.

The $16,550 Fiscal Year 2020 budget has allowed us to make generous contributions to our two scholarship funds. The total holdings of these funds now exceed $30,000 combined, allowing a scholarship award of $400 per scholarship – double the amount the first scholarship winners received in 2013. It also has allowed us to make a contribution to the chapter’s Special Projects Fund, an account dedicated to educational programming and support.

Beyond these allocations, we are able to generously support the chapter’s attendance at numerous conferences, included prefunding 50 percent of the cost of next year’s Conclave registration for four undergraduates. Should we meet our fundraising goal this year, we will be able to – for the third consecutive conclave – be able to fully fund the cost of registration for worthy undergraduate members.

However, we fully recognize the critical situation that our nation currently faces. As the COVID-19 pandemic dramatically alters our everyday life, it has also changed the nature of our operations. Although our financial expenditures are temporarily suspended, I have no doubt that we will overcome this challenge and be fully prepared to support our members in the fall semester, as we always have.

As always, we rely entirely on your generosity to support our operations. No member of the Board of Advisors, nor Alumni Association Board of Directors receives any form of financial compensation. Every dollar contributed goes directly to supporting our brotherhood. I hope that you will consider continuing your financial support of our brotherhood this year, and for years to come. Because of you, we are truly able to create Better Men for a Better World.

Should you have any question regarding our chapter’s finances, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at any time at robertkoolis@gmail.com, or 860-836-0530.

I hope that you and your family are staying safe and healthy in these challenging times and look forward to the next year of our brotherhood’s success.

Yours in the Bond,
Robert J. Koolis, M.P.P. #710
